Pennsylvania Senate bill 1063 could modernize practice laws and remove the restrictive requirement for NPs in PA to maintain collaborative agreements with physicians. Lorraine Bock, AANP member and president of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, explains the benefit of NPs being licensed to practice in PA: “Most professionals have a license to practice, not certification. That designates a level of professional responsibility and autonomy that is not granted through certification, so we need to be licensed,” she said.
