Spotlight on NPs is a weekly article that highlights exciting achievements and activities of AANP members.

Congratulations to AANP Fellow Dr. Eileen Breslin who was recently elected to serve as president of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.  Read the announcement.

A local news station featured AANP member Beth Chaney in a story that suggests people should take advantage of warmer spring weather to make healthy lifestyle changes.

Ellenville Regional Hospital’s  president of medical staff is AANP member Robert Donaldson.  He was recently interviewed about his efforts to spearhead performance improvements and about being a nurse practitioner in leadership.

Congratulations to AANP member Donna Thompson who was awarded the National Association For Continence (NAFC) Rodney Appell Continence Care Champion Award at The Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) 2014 Annual Symposium for Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Disorders this month.  The award recognizes health care providers who serve as role models to others for outstanding contributions in research, education and clinical practice.  Read the article.

AANP participated in a meeting today at the White House with budget and health policy staff. This is a great group of advocates for nurse practitioners.
