Congratulations to four AANP members who were recognized by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) for exceptional professional practice, innovation, leadership and advocacy in emergency nursing. According to ENA’s press release, “Health care professionals nominate colleagues who are extraordinary practitioners and continually go above and beyond the call of duty in emergency nursing.” AANP members among the award recipients are Denise Ramponi, Vicki A. Keough, Kay Ella Bleecher and Jennifer Granata.
AANP member Dr. Mary Chesney became the 38th president of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) on July 1. According to NAPNAP’s announcement, “Dr. Chesney will focus her one-year term on federal and state health policy and improving patient access to pediatric nurse practitioners.” Read more.

Happy 10th anniversary to The Journal for Nurse Practitioners (JNP)! Marilyn W. Edmunds, AANP member and Editor in Chief of the JNP, wrote an editorial commemorating the journal’s 10th anniversary and celebrating the public’s increasing awareness of nurse practitioners and the NP role. AANP Region 1 Director Dr. Donald Gardenier is mentioned in the article.
