Congratulations to AANP Fellows Dr. Dianne Morrison-Beedy and Dr. Barbara Resnick, who were named by Sigma Theta Tau International as 2015 International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame inductees. The International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame recognizes nurse researchers who have achieved significant and sustained national or international recognition and whose research has improved the profession and the people it serves. AANP Fellows Dr. Lisa Chism and Dr. Diane Pace joined the ranks of distinguished experts on the Relizen Expert Advisory Board. The first NPs appointed to the board, JDS Therapeutics announced that the company recognizes “the vital role that nurse practitioners play in providing women with holistic, comprehensive care throughout their lives and we are proud to have Dr. Lisa Chism and Dr. Diane Pace join the Relizen Advisory Board.”

AANP member Kelly Eyer wrote an open letter to readers of the Olney Daily Mail in support of Illinois HB 421 / SB 1315. According to Eyer, the bill would provide patients in Illinios full and direct access to advanced practice nurses and give the state a health care delivery model that has been proven safe and effective in 20 states.
AANP member Michelle Watson was featured in an article about telemedicine that connects specialists to hospitals in rural Alabama.
The Navy Reserve celebrated its centennial, and AANP member Cmdr. Tamberlynn Baker, a Navy Reserve family nurse practitioner, was mentioned in an article about the celebration.
In a recent New Hampshire Business Review article, AANP member Charisse Hirschfeld explained the important role of sexual assault nurse examiners. According to Ms. Hirschfeld, “Our goals are to avoid further trauma to all sexual assault survivors in the health care environment with compassion and sensitivity and provide timely medical and forensic examination.”
