Congratulations to AANP member Lauren Park Nelson, who received the Early Career Achievement Award from Illinois State University during Mennonite College of Nursing’s Nurses Week last month. Read more about Ms. Nelson’s impressive career.
AANP member, Molly Filosi, was featured in an article celebrating her return to her hometown as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Filosi’s passion for health care is evident not only in the care she provides patients at the Umpqua Community Health Center, but also through her volunteer service in nurse-run clinics in several African countries. Being an NP is challenging, but Ms. Filosi believes it is a calling and said, “if you don’t have a passion for it, you won’t be able to do it.”
Congratulations to AANP members Dr. Karen Roberts and Dr. Mary Beth Fund, who were two of Washburn University’s first three doctor of nursing practice graduates. The third graduate, Dr. Karen Olson, has also been a member of AANP. Read the press release.
Multitalented AANP member Dawn Foss was featured in an article about her musical skills. An author and singer, Ms. Foss balances her love of music with a passion for healing others.
Brandy McCrary, an AANP member, was highlighted in an article about a free health and wellness event hosted by the South Georgia Association of Nurse Practitioners (SGANP). Ms. McCrary emphasized the importance of educating patients, and Georgia State Representative Dexter Sharper commended SGANP for the association’s efforts to improve the health of people in southern Georgia.
AANP member Mary Beth Winkeljohn was featured in a US News article that addressed the financial planning needs of nurses.
