Christine Shade, an AANP member, was featured in an article about the health care she provides homeless people in Rochester, NY. Kristin Clarke, an intensive case manager who worked with Ms. Shade for two years, applauds the “authentic empathy and respect” her coworker shows the homeless from her initial contact forward. “She is great at planting a seed with them,” Ms. Clarke says, “knowing she may not see them again but hoping they’ll come back.”
AANP member and President of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN), Connie Lewis, underscored the value of heart failure nurses during the AAHFN annual meeting. According to Ms. Lewis, nurses wear several hats including provision of care, research and advocacy. Read more.
